We left Turner during his last tour of Switzerland in 1844 at what today is Interlaken, and we promised to take a look at The Taft's Turner watercolour traditionally titled “Lake of Thun”.

Our problem is that although the above appears to be a late Turner watercolour, we, who know Lake Thun very well, are unable to match it to any view there.
Closer examination suggests that the difficulty lies not with the drawing, but with its title, so Prue Bishop and I will now undertake a detailed consideration - that will be published once this task is complete.
